Fabrication of fiber-reinforced polymer ceramic composites by wet electrospinning

We propose a novel approach of wet electrospinning to yield fiber-reinforced polymer ceramic composites, where reactive precursor gel is used as collector. illustrate our by generating polyethylene oxide (PEO) fibers in potassium silicate gel; the later activated using metakaolin ceramic-0.5 wt% PEO fiber composite. An increase 29% and 22% recorded for fabricated composites terms indentation modulus hardness respectively. Our initial findings demonstrate process viability might lead potentially scalable manufacturing composites.
